What we provide

Culinary Water Supply

With 2 wells and a pumping system that pushes water at 40 gallons per minute, 1200 feet in elevation, to our storage tank which holds a capacity of 140,000 gallons. Our gravity fed system currently supplies 45 water hookups with Utah’s “best tasting” water, as awarded to Francis City in 2019, which draws from the same aquifer as Woodland South Hills Irrigation Company.

Treated only with chlorine and tested to the Utah State Department of Environmental Quality standards. This service is billed at $40 per month for up to 7,000 gallons.

Irrigation Water

With Provo River water distribution rights, Woodland South Hills Irrigation Company holds irrigation water rights dating back to 1896 from Bridge Hollow. These irrigation shares provide irrigation water to lots in which these gravity fed ditch lines have historically delivered water to, such as the benches, and river bottom. These lots that receive irrigation water are considered the “bench” lots, while those that have not historically received irrigation water are considered “mountain’ lots.

Our annual maintenance fee for this service is focused on both providing this additional water service consistently, and looking into viable solutions to expand this service to further lots over the coming years. The maintenance fee varies per year, and is charged only to lots that are current irrigation water users.

Infrastructure

Our culinary water distribution system was built on a 20 year loan from the State of Utah, all 80 lots in Woodland Estates are members of the South Hills Irrigation Company, and share the responsibility of that loan repayment, as well as ongoing expenses with maintenance and repairs.

This infrastructure expense is covered by our annual assessment which all water members receive. The annual assessment amount in 2021 was $1100.

Irrigation water availability

We have reached the limit of irrigated acres associated with our water rightS.

The request of adding non-irrigated lands to our irrigatable acreage can not be accommodated, as additional acreage can NOT be added to our irrigation water rights.

We are not allowed to use our irrigation water rights outside of the historically irrigated land as established per the Utah State Division of Water Rights.

The policy of the Water Co. has been, that if the ditch crosses your property and has been historically irrigated by this ditch, or your property lies below the elevation of the said ditch, then this water is available for your acreage.

Mountain lots with diversion pipelines crossing their lot and lots in elevation above ditch lines are not allowed per the Utah State Water Rights Division to take or pump water outside of these designated areas.
